MCA Extends Name Reservation and E-form Resubmission Timelines Due to MCA21 System Disruption

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has provided temporary relief to stakeholders affected by the MCA21 system disruption following the Data Centre fire incident dated 05 June 2026.

As per the MCA Office Memorandum dated 20 June 2026, issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, the extension has been granted to reduce hardship faced by companies, LLPs, professionals and other users while completing incorporation and statutory filing processes on the MCA portal.

Key Relief Announced by MCA

  1. Extension of Name Reservation Validity

MCA has extended the validity of approved name reservations where the validity was expiring between 21 June 2026 and 30 June 2026.

Such approved name reservation SRNs shall now remain valid up to 10 July 2026.

This relief applies to name reservations relating to Companies and LLPs, including applications filed through:

  1. Relief for Name Reservations Expired During 05 June to 20 June 2026

Where an approved name reservation expired between 05 June 2026 and 20 June 2026, stakeholders may seek extension up to 10 July 2026 by raising a ticket with the MCA Helpdesk on or before 30 June 2026.

Such requests will be examined on a case-to-case basis after due verification, including verification of continued availability of the approved name.

  1. Extension of E-form Resubmission Deadline

For e-forms where the last date for resubmission falls between 21 June 2026 and 30 June 2026, MCA has extended the resubmission validity up to 10 July 2026.

This will help stakeholders complete pending resubmissions without losing the benefit of already-filed SRNs due to portal-related difficulties.

  1. Reopening of Cancelled E-forms

Where an e-form was cancelled due to non-resubmission during the period from 05 June 2026 to 20 June 2026, the stakeholder may request reopening through the MCA Helpdesk on or before 30 June 2026.

Upon approval after verification, the concerned e-form shall be made available for resubmission up to 10 July 2026.

What Businesses Should Do Now

Companies, LLPs and professionals should immediately review pending MCA filings, incorporation applications, name reservations and resubmission cases.

Affected stakeholders should preserve screenshots, SRN details, error messages and Helpdesk ticket records to support their request for relief.

Conclusion

This MCA relaxation is a welcome step for stakeholders impacted by MCA21 portal disruption. However, the relief is time-bound, and affected users should take action before 30 June 2026 wherever Helpdesk-based relief is required.
